Review on Enhanced Think Tank 6395 EP NSI Eyepiece for Hydrophobia Rain Covers by Deejay Allard

Thin plastic threads that are difficult to screw in

Purchased with a Hydrophobia D 70-200 V3 raincoat for my D850. The eyepiece threads are plastic, very thin, and while Nikon eyepieces screw in nicely, EP-NSI eyepieces are tight, making it hard to tell if it's cross-threaded. Even when properly screwed into the case, due to the tight fit, a small amount of plastic will scrape off and potentially end up inside the case. And since they are made of plastic, they are easily damaged. I've always used a Nikon DK-17M eyepiece on my camera and it's deep enough to pull the neoprene rainproof hole around the DK-17M. This is a bit more cumbersome, but makes changing the eyepiece superfluous. I really like the ThinkTank rain cover but I think for the price they should either make it out of a metal alloy or just recommend people to buy the Nikon DK-17M instead. It's a bit more expensive but much easier to install and much more durable.
