So far I'm satisfied but could do better

Using this thermos instead of an electric yogurt maker has many advantages - it doesn't take up much space, looks good and can be used for something else if You no longer want to make yoghurt. The only disappointment is that it doesn't hold the temperature well. It stays warm when the starting temp is simmering (e.g. to make porridge overnight) but if you try to reach 105-115F to make yogurt the temperature will drop to 95-105F after 2-3 hours. It's still fermenting and my yogurt comes out really well, but it's not the optimal range. So I check the temperature every 2-3 hours or leave it in the oven with the light on or in a cooler bag or put the bottle in a pot of hot water. The bottle itself has pretty good insulation, a lid that is too thin is to blame. In my recultivation this is not a problem as the fermentation process takes 5-8 hours and sourdough yogurt fermentation takes about 12-24 hours. And again, I've had no problem making yogurt, just because I like measuring, I've encountered temperature issues. On the other hand, having a slightly lower temperature is better than overheating and killing your cultures, and I've heard that's a fairly common occurrence with many electric yogurt makers. So I still recommend this product to everyone.
