Sena Experience: We had a pair of SMH10's that worked fine most of the time, but after six years the one I use most started having trouble connecting to the base board - a Symptom of this sound to one speaker or the other stopped working until I squeezed the device a little. At some point, the power buttons also stopped turning the device on and off effortlessly. I'm not saying it was a bad unit - after six years of use I'm not surprised that it's worn out (the other unit still works well but it's only used about 10% of the time my wife drives) . .In any case, all of this points to the fact that I had to replace and after comparing all the models I kept going back to the 10S which I got the other day and tested on the road today. There aren't enough tests to give a proper rating, but my first impression is that it performs much better than the SMH10. The wheel feels more durable when I use it. The first Bluetooth pairing was quick. Turning on/off is much faster; this. My phone connected a second or two after pressing the power button. The SMH10 took about 10 seconds for a phone pair and a few more seconds for media, while the 10S feels "on", 1 second, boom, phone and media paired, done. I have not yet replaced my original speakers and have not had a chance to see how long the battery lasts. I will try to update this review after driving more miles.
