The stand itself is good and holds my iPad well. The reason I give it 4 stars is exactly that. I almost had a heart attack on my second use. I have a 12.9" iPad Pro with a case that also fits my Apple Pencil. An iPad with a case is pretty heavy, to say the least. Scoring app. The iPad sits on a tripod the whole time while we Playing with the app open so we can get points Second time I used a tripod it was a LITTLE windy outside (maybe 1-3mph, gusting up to 3-4mph) I noticed that the tripod moved moved a bit when the wind picked up. I didn't think about it UNTIL my friend looked back and saw the iPad fall onto the cement. Neither my friend nor I were close enough to catch it before it fell on his face. I rushed to pick it up knowing my screen would break, however when I picked it up the iPad was undamaged, the screen itself and just a few scratches on the tripod mount even the lightest wind made it a bit intimidating to use it again every (3) stat I pray so this doesn't happen again. I could break the iPad screen for $1200. I was very lucky this time, but I will not leave him unprotected again because of this incident. I still use a tripod and it works for what I bought it for. I just take extra precautions every time I use it.
