The metal was heavier than expected and matched the 2004 F350 perfectly. My old skid plates had rusted through and the parking brakes failed as a result. While replacement is a real pain, a working braking system is worth the effort. Remember that the parking brake is a mechanical backup in case the main hydraulic brake suddenly fails. The only other option is to shift into reverse. Good luck with it.
