Review on Babo Botanicals 70+% Organic Tinted Mineral Lip Conditioner SPF 15, Water-Resistant Lip Balm, Wild Rose - 0.15 Oz by Ryan Frawley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mostly I love this product, however.

I saw this product and I had to try it! A year or two back I found the Glow For A Cause lip balm which had a tiny and truthfully it was just a hint of color, however even just months after owning it, it tasted.spoiled, yech! I don't remember if it had an expiration date on the tube but the smell and more importantly the flavor literally left a bad taste in my mouth. I should have contacted them but being the insomnia that I am I think of ideas afterwards so into the Babo Botanicals: I have tried enough lip products but I will say that this and two other brands of lip care (Korres Rose Lip Butter, Hanalei Tinted Lip Treatment) are my favorites. With the Babo I will agree that it's thick which I will admit that even some of my lipsticks feel a bit thinner but it's just a nice and smooth and very velvety texture. Also, as one reviewer pointed out, it does have coloring but unfortunately for someone as pale as me I need a bit more pink. I saw it searched on the listing for this item and it's colorful enough for plenty of people out there, but I feel a bit washed out when I wear it. Although I will also say that I think at least for me part of my issue is that I haven't gotten into a regular lip care routine. I think part of it is drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, consuming more fruits/vegetables and natural foods along with using lip masks and most important of all regularly applying The lip treatment. Why am I a female and not used to regularly applying lip balm? It sounds weird, especially when you see me wear make-up but I have worked a lot of retail jobs and there are so many customers and so much talking that applying these lip treatments are not my first priority. Since I have gotten older though I realize that I haven't tended to my bodies needs as much so I value a really good lip treatment. And what I think is part of the problem with this lil treatment is that I haven't used it as regularly and I haven't really worked The treatment onto my lips. Once again there might be women out there who think that's odd but when I regularly use this product, multiple times a day, follow those other "beauty" routines and actually work that lip treatment into my lips than I think The color looks better, you know? If you don't work it into your lips and just swipe it across dry lips it's not going to look as good! The flavor is super pleasant, it tasted natural and it's a bit sweet and the smell is also intoxicating. I have worked at both Bath and Body Works and Lush and if you have never been to Lush before than you will not understand why this product is one of the better lip treatments out there. I compare BBW to Lush because Lush is all natural, handmade, and vegan/vegetarian ingredients and BBW has gotten more natural since I worked there but it just isn't the same as the all natural ingredients. So I do recommend this product, the taste, texture, and smell are fabulous and I have yet to try another color to see if I would like it more, but don't give up on the product because it is a beautiful mauve and I think it you have dry retail lips like mine then you might just have to work those lips and work the product into them, and I don't quite know how to contact the company through Revain and I say this because I searched and went to their product page and I didn't see a way to contact them. I don't have Facebook and I'm no t going to start a Facebook account just to contact them. I don't have Twitter and I think I signed up for Pinterest at one point but truthfully I found it to be more obnoxious than handy. And yes, I think it's important to contact the company through Revain because that's how I purchased it. In looking on the tube I do see a phone number, address and website but still, it would be better to contact them through Revain so they can verify my purchase. I have never heard of this company before doing a search on Revain for better lip treatments and have no clue as to whether or not they sell their products at other retail stores and I don't know if the address on the tube is just their business address or if there is an actual Babo Botanicals store where they sell their products. The reason why I mention this is the one thing I am a bit disappointed about. I ordered this product on February 3rd of 2021 and the expiration date was January of 2021. I realize that I am addressing this about half a year later, but like I said I am sleep deprived and I cannot remember if I looked at the date/saw the date when it arrives but it certainly didn 't register with me at the time that they sent me an expired product. I would like to try this brand when it's a fresh tube to compare my experience but as I said before it tasted yummy and thankfully it doesn't taste expired like the Glow For A Cause lip product that I tried. I didn't include a picture because I am using my Kindle Reader and I couldn't get a clear picture to show the expiration date. I would like to talk to somebody at Babo about this and would try taking a picture with my camera phone to show the expiration date if you need to see it. And like I said I apologize for not writing a review earlier and also not realizing at the time that the expiration was last the date that I ordered the product and to apologize to Babo, I like to try contacting companies before writing reviews. Honestly I have contacted many sellers on Revain or other companies that I haven't purchased from Revain and most of them have not responded. It 's interesting to me that the companies that do contact to make things right with their sale to me are the companies I haven't contacted. That's more so the case with Etsy, I find their sellers to be more communicative which is a shame because I look to Revain for a lot of things first before even hitting the stores. Anyways, I am still going to use the Babo lip tint until it's gone and try another tube when my finances are better, but try a darker shade this time! And despite the date issue, I just appreciate that you at least have an expiration date on this product because nothing is worse than putting lip care that tastes off on your lips.I didn't include my thoughts on the lip protection on how well it works because I have been stuck inside because of Covid-19 so I couldn't truthfully give a review. Thanks for listening!
