Review on Zeiss Normal Sonnar Rangefinder Cameras by Stephanie Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Photography is an art. This lens creates art.

This magic lens. He creates portraits that flatter with an artistic, painterly quality. The bokeh is great. I use it on the M240 and don't worry too much about the whole focus shift thing - I just shoot like any other lens and the photos come out amazing, but if you're a pixel-conscious person you might not like it. While I wouldn't recommend him as "You're only 50," he can certainly fill that role if the need arises. However, if you want a sharper, more accurate 50, you can buy a Planar with the Sonnar for half the price of a Leica 50/1.4. Incidentally, since the Sonnar has a small groove in the mount, it can be "6-bit encoded" with black ink. I currently have 3 Zeiss lenses in my kit and I love them to death. 1/3 click aperture, soft focus, amazing optics and reasonable price. What more do you want!? If I had to say something negative, I would say that the focus distance is 0.9 minutes. Remember that if you register with Zeiss online, you will receive an extended 3-year warranty.
