Description of Zeiss Normal Sonnar Rangefinder Cameras

HIGH-SPEED LENS: Impressive photographs captured in low light always begin with a fast lens for a system or SLR camera. Because, a fast, high-performance lens captures as much light as possible. And a lens with a large maximum aperture leads to the best results when shooting in unfavourable light. IDEAL APERTURE PROPERTIES: The finely tuned features of the optical design on ZEISS ZM lenses ensure a spectacualr bokeh, with particularly harmonious effect of the blurred areas of the image. The ten diaphragm blades and the resulting, virtually circular aperture on ZEISS SLR lenses are crucial to favorable rendition of highlights in the foreground and background. ROBUST DESIGN: The mount and control elements of all ZM lenses are made of metal and are designed for decades of intensive use. The high-quality craftsmanship of the all-metal mounts, the easy-to-grip metal focus and aperture ring and the robust front bayonet and filter threads ensure an amazing photographic experience. SMOOTH & PRECISE FOCUSING: Manually focusing a lens means controlling the image result from your fingertips. A good ergonomic design makes all the difference. The user-friendly focusing ring on ZEISS lenses with an ergonomic finger rest is perfect for fast, precise focusing. Changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder. The high-quality focusing mechanism moves smoothly without play, thus also supporting the intuitive interaction with the focal plane.

Classic design that produces images that have inspired my photography

This 80+ year old lens in a modern all-metal body. The images are reminiscent of the 1930s era. artistic and inspirational as the background blends wide open. It doesn't use modern optical design to correct any errors that occur in the light as it passes through the lens. And we're better for it. to improve the optical design. They seem to know what they have. Combine this with the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 ZM and you have an exceptional pair of lenses. I'm very happy with the compromises it involves…

Photography is an art. This lens creates art.

This magic lens. He creates portraits that flatter with an artistic, painterly quality. The bokeh is great. I use it on the M240 and don't worry too much about the whole focus shift thing - I just shoot like any other lens and the photos come out amazing, but if you're a pixel-conscious person you might not like it. While I wouldn't recommend him as "You're only 50," he can certainly fill that role if the need arises. However, if you want a sharper, more accurate 50, you can buy a Planar with…

Vintage wine in a new bottle

Got mine in October 2015 and it's exceptional. This is a great complement to the 50mm Leica Elmar lens as the two lenses have different personalities and uses. I had no trouble focusing with the M9. It focuses great at all apertures, but requires technical understanding. Created around 1930 (see Wikipedia for details), it is always very sharp in the center even at f/1.5, considering that the depth of field at a distance of 0.9 m is only 3 mm. Extreme care must be taken when decentering a…

Tack Sharp good bokeh

With a Leica 50mm f/1.4 Summilux-M aspherical lens costing almost 4K and the fact that it's been almost completely sold out for over a year, this lens is the next best thing. You can sell 5000 or more on Ebay for a Leica 50mm f/1.4, or you can save enough $$$ to buy 2 used M8s, or the lion's share of the $$$ needed to buy an M9 only by buying this lens . The lens is durable, feels good and heavy in the hand. There is no pocket, something is lame. Any lens costing more than a few hundred dollars

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Nothing here
