At its largest point the bowl is 35.6 cm long and 22.9 cm high. The versatile serving platter holds everything from snacks, candy, cookies and fudge to nuts. The shape of the slide is asymmetrical, so it's most effectively used with smaller parts that can elegantly conform, rather than larger ones that don't fit the unusual shape. The famous Spode Christmas tree, holly and berry leaves and mistletoe decals are deep glazed giving the piece a pleasingly smooth feel and reminiscent of old production standards that have been inconsistent since the factory closed in England in 2009. The sturdy display case offers good protection for off-season storage. No roughness and decals are well smeared - an excellent holiday dish.
