I bought this product because 1-my dogs love sherpa fabric 2-they are always looking for cushions and soft spots. This bed appeals to both. I like the fact that it "forms" the sides of the bed rather than buying the bed with the sides already formed. It's a lot softer than any other dog bed I've ever seen. I was hesitant at first because some of the other reviews said they put their hand in and fell on the floor. The thing is, your dog will not have a target pressure point. When the dog enters, the weight dissipates. and it doesn't fully sink (at least when we started using it). Each of my two dogs weighs 25 pounds. This is a terrier mix that loves to "nest". Both love it. They have short legs but they have no problem crawling at 30cm because the cushion gives way the first time you step on them. They can even fit in the sidebar. If the bed is fluffed up and is a full 12 inches high, they still just jump to the side and climb in. As soon as my dogs climbed in, they immediately became calmer and more sleepy. I would say my dogs are around 20 inches long (head to tail) and can stretch out completely on their side on a medium bed (28 x 28 x 12 inches), leaving a little room. My dogs are about 14-16 inches from floor to back. The bed fabric sheds as advertised in another review. I vacuumed the bed twice with a pad attachment and a wire whisk. Shedding was more than I would like, but it's not. Stop me from buying another bed like this. The picture shows one of my dogs taking a nap today. He is a 26 pound terrier mix who was adopted from a local animal shelter.
