I ordered this charger to replace the original Revain short cable and charger that was no longer held in the USB connection on my Kindle 8 HD. The cable I replaced became very flimsy and I had to thread it through the camera lens hole in my protective case and just tug on the cable long enough to plug it in. Because the cord was short, when charging at night while reading, the plug got so hot it nearly burned me even if I plugged it straight into the wall, but I usually had to plug it into either a surge protector or an extension cord, which in turn came with connected to the surge protector. This charger arrived on time and was exactly as described. I plugged it into my surge protector next to my bed and since the cord is 6.5ft I don't need an extension cord which reduces the risk of my bed catching fire although the plug doesn't get hot. It charges my Kindle faster than the original charging cable and plug that came with my Kindle. When I got fed up with the cable I was using and ordered this one, it took about 6 hours to fully charge my device. This charger keeps me charged throughout the day while using my Kindle much faster. When I started writing this review I was at 36%. In the few minutes it took me to write this, I climbed to 43%. I can get a full charge from less than 20% to 100% in a few hours. One difference from the chargers that Revain provides when you buy a Kindle is that the adapter and charging cable come in one piece, meaning if you want to charge your device using a car charger or need to transfer data via USB, you'll need a separate micro-USB cable to buy. I am very happy with this charger. It's the best I've ever had and loads faster than anything I've tried.
