I bought three of these for winter use in rooms with plants that need moisture to grow. Humidifiers are modern, non-intrusive, quiet, with a decent water tank. I currently use filtered water from my fridge; distilled water is not possible. I did not notice any problems (calcification, deposits, etc.) in two months of use. Remarkably, the three I bought were "used like new". They work great. Humidifiers are quiet, only noticeable when there is no other noise in the house and you are in the same room. From time to time you will hear the bubble moving through the system. You have an analog dial to set the humidity. Humidifiers create a very fine mist that quickly dissipates in the air. Overall I would recommend this moisturizer. In winter, 1-2 rooms have a more comfortable humidity level. One won't be enough for the whole house, but they work well in small areas and near tropical plants.
