They keep my hands warm on cold mornings when my gloves can't. I'm a teacher and every morning and afternoon I'm on duty outside trying to explain to the parents that their kids are just as special as any other kids and they have to drive up to drop their kid off and that's not right at the door. I love the dexterity of gloves, but you can't beat the warmth of mittens. If it's still below zero, I'm better off putting on a hand warmer with mittens than with gloves. They fit great (male, 43, medium hand size) and look classy. Been using them for months now, nothing in this price range keeps your hands quite as warm.
