Durability of guns in soldering stations

Fantastic for the money. This is a great little helper, very useful when working with small electronics mods and solder bumps. The only issue I have (and it's not really an issue, just a fact about the design) is that it definitely has a lifespan. I mean, you shouldn't buy that thing because you think it's a family heirloom. The levers are plastic parts mounted in plastic parts with a friction fit. These aren't cables. So the more you use and move plastic handles, the weaker they become over time. And in fact, there is no way to "delay" the landing. Therefore, as soon as the hands lose their position, they must be replaced. I've only had it a few weeks and have used it about a dozen times and about two of the levers have come loose although they are still fully functional. Overall this is a great value for small electronics work and I am happy with it.

Pros
  • Useful base - does not tip over! The metal plate and non-slip mat prevent Helping Hands from slipping on the bench. Small accessories such as solder, small screw can be put on the base. The base can also be used as a soldering iron stand, the special metal material will not burn.
Cons
  • Some little things
