The ONLY reason I can give 4 stars instead of 5 is because I've discovered the hard way that it doesn't do that in large, flat pans like a wok or skillet (11" diameter and up). works fine. You have to tilt such pans too much to get complete draining and the items will fall out of the pot and it works great. It drains well, does not leak and is easy to clean both in the dishwasher and by hand. The fact that it snaps into place is perfect so you can hold large pots with both hands and not lose your food or clumsily hold a hand strainer on it and possibly burn yourself if you're like me. Finally, it's small and sturdy. It's perfect for homes with little storage space or just for those trying to reduce cleaning time with a large standing strainer. You always need a large strainer for certain things, but everyday cooking for one or two people , that fits the picture!
