Easy to install. I laid the thick sheet of plastic I had, pressed it against the pipes and hit it with a hammer. It was the only way I could exert myself enough to dress them fully. I don't think it's "scratched", it looks like polished brushed stainless steel. It's barely noticeable when I look down. It doesn't matter if it rusts as other reviews have said it costs $20 so you get what you pay for. A good alternative to the factory version vw.
