The dimmer tends to overheat
I bought this a year ago and a few weeks ago I smelled an electrical burn and tested it and the dimmer was very hot. I took it apart and found that the transistor and circuit board inside had blown and the plastic cover was starting to melt. This could have been very bad but was discovered early enough to prevent a fire. Otherwise a nice lamp. I found an accurate UL certified cable replacement with a switch at TruValue.
