I received the lamp in a cardboard box that was packed so tightly that it couldn't be tampered with. I was impressed with how well it was packaged. Of course there was salt at the bottom of the bag, so I opened it carefully. Plugged in and it's beautiful. I like the dimmer. Very high-quality processed material. I'm very glad I bought two of these and they both work perfectly.

I bought this a year ago and a few weeks ago I smelled an electrical burn and tested it and the dimmer was very hot. I took it apart and found that the transistor and circuit board inside had blown and the plastic cover was starting to melt. This could have been very bad but was discovered early enough to prevent a fire. Otherwise a nice lamp. I found an accurate UL certified cable replacement with a switch at TruValue.

It is cute and different from other salt lamps. When first unpacked, salt dust was all over the lamp. I cleaned the basket and even thought of removing all the salt rocks from the basket and quickly lowering them under water to get rid of the salt dust, but I was too lazy. Not as bright as I expected and not as bright as my other regular salt lamp. But there is a nice warm glow. Basically satisfied. Makes a cute gift idea!

I like the color, very soothing. I like that it can be darker or lighter, which also changes the temperature. The salt rocks are beautiful and can be moved to block out the light more or less.
