Review on Prepworks Progressive Collapsible Salad Spinner by Jonah Riggle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It really works! Dishwasher Safety UPDATE

Update after a few years of use: It still works and I still give it 5 stars BUT I have to take back a bit of what I originally wrote. The spinner cannot be fully washed in the dishwasher. I accidentally put the inner basket on the bottom shelf and it warped on one side, it went flat on the side that was down about 3 inches. This has led to several problems. First, a crack started to develop in the inner basket in the flattened part, which gradually got worse as I flattened and unfolded it. Second, because of the flattened side, it doesn't spin as well as it used to. It still spins when I adjust the basket like this, but not as well as before. I still think this spinner is great for the ON THE TOP SHELF dishwasher. And everything else I've written about it, I still support. I've used it a dozen times over the past few months and it never disappoints! This device is 3 in one: 1. It is a salad spinner and does a good job; 2. This is a colander if you just need a quick rinse; and 3. it's a bowl, just right for a salad for 2 or 3 people. To top it off, it actually folds into a small disk for easy storage, and all parts of it are dishwasher safe. And it cleans even when folded! It still works great but this one is big, hard to store and while you can put the bowl and colander in the dishwasher just try putting them on the top shelf. This old man only gets used to it once a month or two. It's much easier to take Progressive CSS-2 out of the case, open it and use it. Now I eat salad a few times a week instead of once or twice a month. Some people say it is difficult to open, close and use, but neither I nor other family members found it difficult. So far I haven't seen anything that stops Progressive CSS-2 from being a five star buy. I'll even buy another one as a gift. How long it will take? Damn! I don't know but 2 months of fairly intensive use and it looks like new. If it only lasts a year or two, it's worth the price and it could last a lot longer. The time will show.
