Review on πŸ“‘ Mediasonic Adjustable Attic Antenna Mounting Pole: 38" Reversible J-Pole for Outdoor Reception (HW-510P) by Narendra Thapa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Actually works a little better than advertised.

It's nice to win every now and then. We live at 2,500 feet in a hilly, rocky area and don't have a good view of the transmission towers in the San Diego area 62 miles away, according to tvfool. We are located in the southern portion of Riverside County where it joins San Diego County just north of Fallbrook. All websites that receive TV signals have low hopes in this area so I bought this antenna as a test thinking I might be disappointed. Exactly the opposite happened. To test the antenna, I attached it to an 8-foot piece of PVC pipe, stuck the pipe into a fence post, and hooked it up to a 22-inch digital TV. The antenna receives 47 stations from the San Diego area. Haven't unpacked yet to see what we can get from LA (also about 65 miles to Mount Wilson Towers). Half of the channels we receive are from Mexico so they are useless to me as I don't speak Spanish. However, a quick pre-test shows us good picture and sound from Fox, NBC, two PBS stations, and a few others. Imagine what this little antenna would do mounted on a 20-pin mast with a rotor! Say goodbye to satellite TV soon because this little antenna goes well with a cheap streaming service. Quick to assemble, no tools required. All you need is a coaxial cable. This is not included. The plastic parts on this antenna don't last more than a year here, but hey, for $22 I'll just buy another one.
