Mmm, this thing is very cheap! I don't mean well. It's not even metal, it's a shiny outer coating tinted with paint that makes it look like a silver metallic. Immediately after unpacking, it already peels off, scratches in some places and bubbles at the edges. I chose this rod over similar ones because other reviewers said or showed pictures of the white rubber at the end protruding beyond the metal rod itself where it could be seen even when hung. This one seemed different, but it's not, it's the same, only worse. When we tried to install this bar, the entire cap that sits over this rubber came loose (easily) and slid the full length of the bar. (Great.) Basically, this thing is so cheap it broke in the standard configuration it was made for. Obviously it won't last long so it was a waste of my money. };/
