Unstable with normal foot width

A carbon fiber tripod is outrageously priced, but we never found a use for it in our entire trip west. We love hiking and didn't want to lug around a heavy tripod to use with our Sony a7iii camera, so I was happy to use this little fella, but I've spent a lot of time setting it up that way on a number of occasions , as I wanted it. , and never really got it to work for me, so we finally gave up and got it back when we came back. At the narrowest foot setting we wanted/expected to use as it gives you maximum height on a short tripod, even on perfectly level ground, I just didn't feel comfortable that it wouldn't fall off (even on the shortest setting). And in any other foot setup, it's too wide, which not only lowers the camera but also makes it difficult to find a good spot to keep it level. Nice try here, but useless for our needs. By the way, we use a Tamron 17-28mm lens with our camera, so that doesn't mean we use a heavy or terribly long lens.

Pros
