Review on Oster 5712 Electronic 6 1 Quart Steamer by Sam Kriegshauser

"Fool me twice, shame on me "

I used to have the same vape and given its terrible performance and short lifespan I would definitely learn to avoid it again. But no, I assumed that the first run with this device was just a fluke and this time it should be different. It was; This block was even worse and started to deteriorate on the sixth use - six! First the right side of the digital display disappeared, leaving you guessing what was being entered for the time. After a few more uses, the power button became unresponsive and took several tries before finally accepting the command to turn the device on. As a result, the button didn't work at all. To defend my sanity, Oster 5712 had qualities that appealed to me both times: The egg-shaped shape outperforms the round shape for many types of food. In addition, the modular design of steam bowls is great for steaming multiple foods at once. Finally, the programmable timer makes it easy to prepare and delay cooking. It's all said, the unit should have had a lot for it. Not at all. Even the most versatile kitchen tool becomes useless when the electronics fail and you're left with an expensive addition to the bin my two 5712s ended up in. Instead I have preferred to use the cleaning and drying away from running water. Distilled water was used to generate steam and prevent possible contamination. In short, the use was better than what the manual says. If you have this Easter product and it works well, I wish you the best of luck in the future. If you are considering an Oster 5712 steamer from this source or any other, I would advise you to look for another brand that performs the same function. This isn't an Easter product from days gone by, it's just junk. I admit it; "Fool me twice, shame on me".
