Update: I still love the bar for the price but unfortunately the Toslink optical input was only issued today 8-18-19 which of course wasn't a few days after the return policy expired! I'm frustrated but not devastated, I'll just run it with analog 3.5mm to RCA signal from my TV. I still recommend, but since it's entirely possible that something will go wrong with you, it's always better to spend a few bucks more for a 4-year guarantee! I usually do this all the time and it has more than paid off, but I didn't get a guarantee on it because I wasn't worried, I think I should have, but I'm more than happy with the analog! It's not like there's a huge difference, and all of a sudden because I'm switching to analog instead of digital, there's a lot of noise or something. There really is no noise that matters or to worry about! For the price, this is probably one of the best speakers out there with decent bass, which is what I wanted as I'm not a fan of subwoofers. Yes, they're great for movies and such when you want your home to sound like theater, but personally I like hearing how the low frequencies warm up everything around us, rather than drowning out the rest of the frequencies and rolling bass waves that just keep going, bouncing against your walls and making the standing waves flap and mess up the sound! I originally bought the first one for my bedroom and put it in my living room because I work there and I hooked it up to a 50" Vizio and turned on Qello Stingray Concerts and Docs which is a great channel with really good music and even better indicates. The MEGACRA filled my living room beautifully and held up great on floors. I don't have a subwoofer and was very impressed with the warmth it gave off. Again. If you're on a budget and just can't handle those tin can computer speakers anymore, I highly recommend checking it out, and even audiophiles might be surprised!? It also comes with multiple inputs, personally I've always been a fan of Toslink, Optical Digital, Lightpipe, whatever you want to call it! SPDIF. I always thought that if it's not a linear analog signal then digital packets sent at the speed of light would be the next best thing?!? I can tell you it's great stuff, the speakers are well designed and placed and with the right sound designer surround sound can really come out and soundbars in the past have been known to sound thin with no bass. But again, this bad boy is awesome, he does nothing but blow my mind every time I turn it on! It's so good I want to take my older one in LR and replace it with another! I would be more than willing to take up the Pepsi challenge with this model and a few other similar branded models. I guarantee the only thing you will notice is the extra money you have left over! Definitely recommend
