Super Bright ! Easy, Small and they all worked. I bought 12 of these and haven't had aproblem yet. At this price, the batteries cost more than the Light did ! Very Good buy indeed.The focus beam is a nice option, but a the narrow setting, as others have said, it puts out a square image.not bothersome at all, just different. This is because if the reflectors in the light, and the Cree bulb itself is square. It won't bug you at all. Amazing amount of light, and perfect for the dog at night in my rural area. It is VERY bright, caution Kids NOT to shine this in anothers eyes, it's a powerful little guy. Can't give you accurate battery life estimate, but I can say that it takes 3 AAA batteries, and they have lasted at least 6 hrs total so far, with no indication of power loss. Cree L.E.D. bulbs draw significantly less power than old style light bulbs. Also, the light is in the blue/white color spectrum, but who care when it's this bright. I'm happy, and sure you would be too, especially for the $$$
