Bought this for a 4.5 year old and ordered an XS (luckily I got it instead of a 5T) and it fits him. My son is not very tall and weighs about 43 pounds and size XS fits him. It was cut close enough to his body that it didn't ride up, but most importantly it offered excellent sun protection. He was in the sun from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and never complained that he felt unwell and had not burned himself. I would buy again but be careful with the size. UPDATE REVIEW: Bought 5 months ago and already used a size up. I just bought a small one for my little friend. I had a great experience the first time which made it easy for me to order again.
