Heavy yellow metal plate with rubber feet. The levers are fairly stiff (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and have a thumbscrew on the side of the end to hold each alligator clip in place. There is heat shrink around the jaws of the clamps. Also on the side is a holder for a soldering iron in the form of a coil. All parts come in a box and are quickly assembled. Mine came with an extra screw of each type and a spare alligator clip. As mentioned, the grips are a little tight at first. Thumbscrews that prevent the clamps from rotating or falling out are nice because they allow you to rotate the clamps at any angle, but they don't actually hold the clamps tight enough to prevent them from closing under force rotate even though you are squeezing an object. With multiple clamps, the result is fairly rigid and durable.
