I don't like the shine in certain lights

The paper has a glossy finish which I wasn't expecting, I don't like it when it's shiny in certain lights, really waters down the colours. I planned to paint over the paper with collage crayons, but to make the color glossy you need to add gloss. The cherry blossom patterns weren't impressive either. I was expecting small bright and natural pink blooms, but got huge blooms that didn't look like cherry blossoms at all.
