Review on Garmin Premium Heart Monitor Strap by Dawn Ohara

I bought this for my girlfriend to do aerobics. I have my own working HRM3 which I received from REI. This review is less of a slap to a Garmin product and more of a slap to whoever is responsible for shipping quality control. This is the second time I have purchased a Revain harness at a reduced price and have received a poor product that had either a loose connection or no connection at all. Later I went to REI and paid full price and got a fully functional device.1. Item arrived in polybag, not retail package.2. The product could not be connected to any of my ant+ devices (Garmin 235, Garmin 935). even after troubleshooting with all known fixes.3. The strap turned out to be brand new but upon closer inspection of the monitor the screws were worn as if the battery on it had been replaced and it had a scratch as if it had been worn/used before. Let me reiterate that the monitor was dead when it arrived and unplugged. I even followed the instructions for changing the battery and plugged it in for a second then died/disconnected and was undetectable. Is it a refurbished device? Who knows. All I know is that I've noticed a pattern and won't be buying from Revain again.
