I recently "reloaded" a 10 gallon planted aquarium with a Fluval 106 canister filter. The intakes and outlets that come with the canister are far from attractive and I thought it was time to switch to something more aesthetic. The hoses were packaged very well in laser cut foam and everything was intact. You get both hoses and 6 (detachable) suction cups in the box, so you have a few spares in case you lose them or lose their suction power. The tubes look great, much better than the plastic stuff that comes with the canister. I can imagine that brushing can be a bit of a chore when they are inevitably covered in algae or diatoms, but there are brushes that solve this problem. They fit very well into the rubber fittings that come with my Fluval filter; Just make sure you order the correct diameter tubing. The installation in the tank was also quite easy, but I didn't think it through to the end. I didn't have the foresight to attach the canister hoses to the pipes and then install them on the tank. So make sure that the installation is the last step, otherwise you risk hitting the glass tubes on the glass of the aquarium when putting the tubes on. They're definitely more expensive, especially with the cheap plastic tubing, but if you care about the aesthetics of your setup, it's probably worth having something nice and handmade.
