Two days ago I was offered a free WUOAUM Air Drain Blaster Kit by Revain Vine to try and I accepted. .* For years I have poured gallons of Drano and boiling water down this drain with no problem. The other day I tried the Thrift channel cleaner which helped a little after two attempts with boiling water. but it still worked very slowly. But now, in just one try with this air intake, IT IS CLEAR! I don't mean that it's gotten any better or even a lot better, I mean like new pipes have been installed! I can't get enough water through to collect in the pool. It drains like a new drain! I'm thrilled because this has been a chronic problem for years and this thing completely fixed it in one fell swoop! Here's what I did. I attached the included nozzle that fits my sink drain. I inflated the device to 3 bar (about 45 psi). I flushed to fill the pipes with water and poured some water into the sink. I inserted the nozzle into the drain hole, squeezed firmly, and then pushed the release button. Dirty black debris was thrown from the overflow and supported the pump cylinder, but the drain was clean! I flushed the blaster cylinder and did it again at 3 BAR. More debris flew out (but much less than the first hit). But the drain is now completely free! Some observations/recommendations.1. Take anything you don't want to get dirty with, including towels, shower curtains, rugs, toiletries, etc. Stow everything just in case. trust me, do it. This is a lot easier than cleaning them up after the fact when things get messy. Make sure you fill the drain with water before using your Air Blaster. Water is incompressible and does most of the actual work of cleaning the drain.3. Cover spills with old damp towels or rags to collect debris.4. Place an old wet rag and/or old wet towels around the drain and around the blowpipe before using the blower to vacuum up messy sewer debris or even just water that may slosh out or slosh back when the trigger is pulled. Don't overdo it with the amount of pressure you use. Try to fix the problem with the least amount of pressure, say a BAR or two, repeat and only work if necessary, especially when working on old plumbing. My biggest mistake was not preparing the place with old wet towels or rags. as described above. Luckily the overflow was pointing away from me and what erupted was only a few feet from the drain. A little tidying up was worth what now looks like a brand new sink! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! UPDATE: November 9th, 2021 Today the aforementioned sink started again relatively slowly, which surprised me. But I hit him with a 2 BAR bang and everything cleared up again. No fuss this time. Fast, easy and without chemicals.
