Review on DEEPCOOL Gamma Archer CPU Air Cooler with 120mm Fan for Intel and AMD Processors - High Airflow Design by Agata Dbrowska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

First taken as a replacement for a tired ten-year-old IceHammer of the same class, to work on the E8500. But then the Xeon E5430 fell on his (GAMMA ARCHER) shoulders. And what do you think - 45 gr. - cover, 53 gr. - internal sensors of the CPU (TjMAX set to 85 gr., testing was carried out by the AIDA64 test)! Thermal grease GD900, closed case, blown 120 mm fan ~1200 rpm. The whole thing lives on Asrock G31M-S Rev 1.01 (by the way, I didn’t have to sew a bios for the E5430, everything works on a regular 22022). In short, yes - an indecently expensive piece of aluminum, which nevertheless copes with a quad-core. Think for yourself =).

Pros
  • Availability in most stores. 120th cooler, not very loud at max. revolutions. Motherboard and near socket VRM will be appreciated. Wide spacing between the radiator fins, dust "boots" will not appear as quickly as others.
Cons
  • 600-700r - the price is WILD for such a piece of aluminum, whatever one may say. The real price for him is no more than 350 (yes, I probably live in 2022). Due to such a width of the radiator, a rocker mount is not the most convenient solution. It's one thing when the motherboard is outside the case, but if everything is already assembled, you'll have to tinker. The need to center the cooler relative to the CPU after fixing it on the frame! The "heel" of the heatsink can sort of slip away from the CPU heat spreader, so the heatsink needs to be centered. And then later you will think why you catch overheating, and you have only half a "heel" on the process =))).
