Several visible manufacturing/assembly defects

Some nice things: If it had been made to match the design, it would have ended up being a decent touchscreen monitor. The LCD shows a good picture (if not dimmed). Also, the touchscreen works exactly as you'd expect (I've only tried it in one-touch mode). However, mechanical failures range from unbelievably to surprisingly severe. The most surprising thing is that one of the VESA mount's four threaded inserts (the one you screw in) is completely covered in plastic (in the photo where the label is visible). Ironically, the "QC" sticker is only inches away from this apparent manufacturing defect. Somewhat disappointingly, the connectors are not centered in the slots as expected (see photo with connectors). Another proof of bad assembly. I'm not sure if this is due to misalignment or the norm: HDMI cables connected incorrectly distort the picture. Tried several HDMI cables. I've never experienced such sensitivity with HDMI. After a tight fit, the picture was at least stable. Faceplate cosmetic imperfections: There are a few gaps (not plastic) at the connection of the frame to the faceplate (see image with two red arrows). Other problems were at least on the back. Finally, there is another blemish on the back where there is a stripe on the plastic (third photo). It doesn't matter much. If that was the only downside it wouldn't have been noticed, but I decided to add it to the list. I cannot imagine that the manufacturer/seller is not aware of these problems. If they really were groping in the dark, that's sad. If they knew but just hoped the customer wouldn't care or notice, that's awful. I would like sellers to be made aware if any items listed have apparent obvious manufacturing defects, particularly those sold as new.
