I needed a replacement zipper for my winter jacket, & this zipper came up. I've had nonmetalic ones before without issue. After paying to have it installed, the "teeth" of the zipper broke the second time I wore the jacket (really the first since I tried it on after it was finished), & the zipper actually came right off. I had to purchase another zipper, this time went with metallic, paid to have this one removed, the new one installed. This might work for some jackets, but I would strongly recommend against it for most, especially winter jackets, even though it came up for winter jackets. Poor quality. Very light in weight & strength. I'd normally would have returned it, but between the time to get a replacement, have this one removed, new one installed, I just wrote it off as a loss.
