One of the 6 pairs didn't have to pass quality control. It is very difficult to open and even more difficult to close - the blades started to open again and I almost stabbed my hand trying to force them to close. However, I like them better than the US-made equivalents I've bought. The first. In the 1970's and 1980's I bought the US made version for camping/hiking - they were great, but now the US made versions are blunt with no sharp ends or beveled blades. These blades are beveled and sharp with good sharp blade ends.
