Review on 📱 Glide Gear TMP 50: A Versatile 10" Smartphone Mini Tripod Teleprompter for Enhanced Video Production by Matthew Gonzales

I have been in the media and television systems industry for many decades and have even sold teleprompters. I've retired from the TV business and am now an online teacher and I needed a strong, light and not very expensive teleprompter rig for my DSLR. It does the job for a nice low price. The build quality is much better than I expected. The gearbox is aluminum (not plastic) and beautifully finished. The buttons are large and easy to reach. The frame of the mirror is thick, protective and also made of aluminium. Camera position is easily adjustable, although the carriage can be longer to accommodate slightly larger cameras and/or longer lenses. The camera mount has good quality grommets to hold the camera securely and aluminum is thick enough that you can probably extend it with another aluminum plate to get that length for many longer lenses. The phone or tablet mount is also aluminum and is adjustable enough to fit my 7 inch tablet and one of the many old phones I have laying around (that I never get to sell). The aluminum could be a bit thicker here; It's strong enough to hold any phone or tablet, I'm just afraid I'll bend it one day if I knock the tripod over or someone trips over it, but I'm fussy. It also comes with a very durable plastic stand for your phone. . Not only does the 1/4 20 grip hold the rig on the prompter slide, it also has a 1/4 20 bottom so you can use your phone on a tripod or pole without a prompter. The spring-loaded, durable metal clip holds your phone very securely, while the top and bottom rubber grips protect it from scratches. I've seen comments about the cloth hood. The rigidity of the hood here is such that you can move it anywhere and it doesn't get in the way of the lens, which is nice. It is also a durable material that will last a long time. I enlarge it with a thin black cloth to cover the gaps. Little problem. I also paired this with a free teleprompter app (Proverb Teleprompter) developed by a church organization that allows me to upload text files and with the Parrot Teleprompter Remote I can easily promote and rewind the app. Everything folds fairly flat and fits into a canvas case with a decent amount of white rigid foam. This is a really good little device for tips on the go and for the price it's a rare high quality at a low price.
