Remote doesn’t work

No matter what we do the remote doesn’t work. The lights are already out in 2 different places. We did a 2,300 sq ft room so obviously it took forever lol but it’s so annoying that within a week 2 areas don’t work, the remote doesn’t work and the app I was told to download wants me to pay for it!
