Review on Optimized Jacquard Neopaque 8 Color Set by Carol Miller

Little magic pots!

Although I don't consider myself a textile artist, I have used Neopaque colors for many years. I love the entire Jaquard line, from inks and varnishes to Pearl Ex pigments and printable fabrics (not to mention their dyes!). You won't find better quality at a cheaper price. These colors are great for working on fabrics - this color keeps the fabric soft and smooth, not crusty. (We all know what it is - how uncomfortable to wear, starts to tear and sometimes peels off, very painful to wash, etc.) Be disappointed. Why? Jacquard developed this color that offers incredible performance while leaving behind all the project-damaging issues that many colors cause. Nobody likes to invest a lot of time (and money) in a project only to find that the materials used were substandard or just didn't work properly. This will not happen to you with jacquards, but especially with neopaque dyeings. This color choice is amazing! Bright, rich, vibrant colors practically pop off the fabric, captivating your visual interest with vibrant ferocity. This color group is not for the faint of heart - yet neopaques are very easy to mix and match with each other (and with other jacquard fabrics), providing virtually limitless scope for your creative pursuits. You can create the impossible with them - you just won't encounter the problems that other acrylic paints have. They can also be used for anything - I'm not limiting them to just fabric. They are amazing on all types of substrates - the best way to tell which ones is to simply jump with both feet. They are thicker than cheap acrylic craft paint - I think they are more comparable to Liquitex Soft Body Paints. If you're familiar with the Lumiere line, they're very similar but without the flicker. I would say Lumieres are pearlescent (colors with Pearl Ex or Mica) and they are very pigmented colors with a dense coverage. They're my go-to choice when I need to cover something - they're great for an opaque layer. You can mix them with filler, matte gel (or gloss if you prefer) or any other product to brighten them up. If you want to make sure the color washes out, you need very little other medium to balance the color. In my opinion, jacquard colors are among the most pigmented colors on the market. Every time I take them out and open the jars I'm amazed at their low price compared to high quality. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to try to answer them. While I sound like a paid Jacquard rep, I'm not. I just love their products and love sharing tips with other artists. (I don't teach or belong to a craft business. It's just me and me and me. And sometimes a few other voices.) No matter what you try, you can't go wrong with jacquards. These are amazing "regular" acrylic paints, ie without any additional special "effects". I love the flashy cover. If you want to mix things up and get a different effect, I recommend Lumiere. I also really like their Dye-Na-Flow. Use Dye-Na-Flow when you want the result to look more like paint than paint. I have all of their colors (including Lumiere 3D and a few Marble colors) and love how reliable they are. I can't say enough about it if you can't. Bottom Line: Only buy these if you're looking for amazing color at great prices. I'm warning you now: you're likely to get addicted to these incredible pots of paint. I don't have any information to offer about recovery groups from (which likely will be) your new addiction, but I can suggest that you do what I do. crazy woman (or man, if that suits you better). Even if you feel like you "can't" draw - who cares?! Slide these beauties across natural or synthetic fabrics, polymer clay, wood, plastic and rubber, and even paper, and you'll enter an insanely comfortable creative zone. Vivid, rich colors and a great creamy texture will have you looking for things to paint in no time! What are you waiting for? Serious. ADD TO CART NOW!
