This shoe was designed to be worn barefoot and in the water, so it is clear that it is snug, but even then the elastic at the toe is very tight - I couldn't even get my feet in until he took off his socks. Then I realized that the kit included a water drainage sockliner that can be removed and that made it that much better for me. You can see in my photo that the shoe is actually larger than I need (maybe a half size or even a full size) but the height at the neck is different than Merrell's Jungle Moc moccasins of the same size (right). At least they won't go without a fight! I'm sticking with Jungle Mocs as they're my best bet, but if you want to wear something in the water they're pretty durable and drain/dry well.
