I have used many clamps over the past 50 years and they are very well made, good material and as strong as most people would want. However if you really need some heavy duty steel clamps for clamping heavy steel and the like this will clamp most jobs but do not attempt this in place of very expensive steel clamps which require a strong wrench to tighten. For hand use on all types of wood, light 1.8" steel and aluminum etc. I'm sure you will find very good value for your money (I paid around $2 each). Remember: These inexpensive aluminum frame clamps do a LOT, but it's not a $20 steel frame. Use wisdom, just tighten them hand tight and you will have them for the rest of your life. I have had these Irwin clamps from 2" to 5" and 6". All have served me well. Enjoy.
