My 2000 Malibu Response LX boat had a bad RPM sensor (special digital input wires) and there is no replacement available. This 2" ELING analog input gauge fits in a spare hole in the dashboard and works well when wired and calibrated properly. Boat wiring includes connections: red 12V gauge wire to purple/white boat harness wire, blue ground wire to black boat. , The orange light wire to the navy blue boat and the black TachSignal wire to the wire that connects to the boat's alternator "AC" terminal. can also work as a tacho source, but the meter reading was unstable in my setup. Calibration requires setting the "speed ratio" using the black rubber knob on the back. Cruise control (3690 rpm at 36 mph). After a few weeks of use, I noticed that the hour meter was about 10% slower.
