This toaster seemed weak from the start - but I just wanted toast; It shouldn't be great or perfect - just toast. From the start I had trouble getting the bread to stay on the bottom and start the toasting process. I had to pull the lever and repeat several times. Second time with this toaster, same performance. The lever did not click in the down position until the 3rd or 4th try. When the toast tried to pop out, a piece of bread got stuck in the inner cage and wouldn't come out. Turning the toaster didn't help. I toasted rye bread. Imagine trying to toast an English muffin! I didn't think it was possible to hate a toaster. Until now.
