Review on ⌚ Enhanced Garmin tactix Delta: Premium GPS Smartwatch with Specialized Tactical Features, Complying with Military Standards by Draven Louton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredible watch.

After using a few iterations of the Apple Watch, I decided to make a change. This change didn't come because I wasn't happy with the Apple Watch - I think the Apple Watch, if you have an iPhone, is great technology. On the outside, however, I love the look of the Garmin, especially the Tactix Delta, and I wanted something sturdier. As a disclaimer - I've done a few comparisons to the Apple Watch - I certainly know that the Apple Watch will have a huge advantage in terms of iPhone integration because Apple makes both, makes software for both, etc. Garmin seems to agree its "undisputed" champion when it comes to long-distance running, marathon/marathon training, mountaineering, etc. with the option of tracking split times and various running data. Plus, the battery life is incredible. I don't use a lot of notifications, but I do track fitness data and I can easily get weeks, if not more, charged. GPS tracking works very well for running/walking. I haven't had a chance to take it to trails yet. It tracks some really useful data that you can view in the Garmin Connect app on your phone. One downside is that your phone needs to be running Garmin Connect software to track data. If it's not running, it will sync to the clock the next time you open it. Not by much, but certainly not as straight and streamlined as Apple. models at the time of this review) and potentially save a few bucks. I will say that the Tactix Delta is only the Fenix 6x size (the largest watch face size), which is much larger than even the 44mm Apple Watch. I was afraid it would be too big but I really liked the size. I'm not a tall person - 5'10", so I don't have particularly long arms/big wrists. But after a day or so I got used to it and in no way do I find it to look too tall. I just wish Garmin and Apple could team up to create the ultimate watch - Garmin durability and looks (admittedly more of a personal preference than anything else) with Apple Watch software/phone connectivity. Maybe a future iteration! You don't need all the notifications or the big Apple Watch screen, or you're looking for something a little more outdoorsy/outdoors/adventurous (not to mention the Apple Watch can't do that - it does it well and gets better) new watchOS releases, only the watch itself has always been in my experience a bit more fragile) then the Garmin would be a good option for you.Of course if you are an Android user I think Garmin is a really great technology if Si e Like notifications on your wrist that sync well with your phone. My five cents for a very "average" user. I'm not a marathon runner/tourist in the Swiss Alps. just enjoy fitness, be active and try new technologies.
