We have sunshades on all the outside windows of our house because we live in the desert and these screens keep the temperature inside the house down. Unfortunately, the slacker who installed some of our screens drilled holes in the plaster (instead of the window frame, like every other screen in the house) to install the screen mounts and didn't use a silicone gasket or anchors. So if you want to clean the window or replace the screen because it's faded and unscrew the screen latches, you know what? The screw no longer tightens because it has nothing to catch. Some of the plaster will fall off along with the screw when you loosen it. I could have gone a few other ways but we were having a storm at the time and it was night and the wind managed to knock off one of the screens. from the side of the house. I happened to have a box of these Hillman Drive Wall Anchors (41330) on hand, so I used a few. They were perfect for the hole that was drilled. They fit perfectly and keep the screen in place. The bonus is that you can loosen the screw in them just enough to flip the mount and remove the screen, do what you need to do and screw the screw back in and it's just as tight. I'm about to buy another box.
