Great "adapter " cables for moving older devices to the USB-C wave

There aren't many well-known brands making USB-C to MicroUSB cables today, but I'm glad that CableMatters is one of them. As the USB-C interface gradually becomes mainstream, all other connectors (USB-A, USB-B, etc.) are expected to become obsolete very soon. Many of you, like me, will be stuck with three different types of cords/chargers in your homes during this "transition period”. We have a newer Macbook with a USB-C port, a Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge with older Mirco USB ports and these cables were exactly what the doctor ordered so I bought two of these for our family. Performance ------- ------------- Not all cables are created equal, in fact, a cheap or poorly made cable can severely limit the amount of power it can carry and charge your devices for slower ones speeds, no matter how strong yours is. So I tested these cables for fast charge performance with a Quick USB-C charger and compared their performance with a Samsung OEM charger with Anker Powerline 20AWG, OEM Top Cables - Samsung Cables and measured if the cable rolls plays. The cables worked just as well as they did. Power measurements were taken using a wall outlet power monitor (see image). (1.65A at 9V) Anker PowerLine Cable Power Supplied = 14.2W i.e. (1.57A at 9V) Samsung OEM cable supplied Power = 14.8W i.e. (1.65A at 9V) . As you can see, CableMatters cable performs just as well, if not better than the premium 20AWG or top-end OEM cables. ------ Nylon braid gives the cable good resistance to flex wear - Works just as well as some of the best 20AWG and OEM micro USB cables - Small connectors mean it even has to be pushed through in most cases with small holes - USB-C and Mirco USB-B connectors are secure - Lifetime warranty means peace of mind if they fail at any point. Not so good --------------- ---- --- Actually none in this price range, but if I haven't picked out the smallest details - because the nylon braid increases the stiffness, are they not very flexible. However, this is to be expected. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend these cables to you. If you have multiple USB-C and Micro-USB devices at home and don't want to use or carry two separate chargers for them when you travel. etc. They are perfect as adapter cables as USB-C becomes the main cable
