the recorder is old so i am not surprised that the sound is bad when recording too weak to Listen (yes, I turned up the volume). Most of the tapes I've played on it are difficult or impossible to understand, but maybe that's the tapes and not the recorder. You can hardly complain about outdated electronics and delivery was ok.
