I got them mainly for use with coffee Bought ice cubes for my iced coffee and I have used them with my regular ice cubes as well. The teeth are good for grabbing the dice, but if your dice misses the teeth, they can easily slip out of the pincer grip. I would suggest other pliers though. because not only is the row of teeth less secure than the traditional 3-tooth system, I've also noticed on several occasions that the sides of the pliers aren't always finger-friendly. They look smooth enough but can bite your finger if you're not careful.
