Review on Lutron Pico Remote: Caseta 🔥 Wireless Smart Dimmer, Favorite Setting, Black by Garon Tafolla

I use this in conjunction with a Lutron Caseta wall dimmer switch and a Wink hub. The disadvantage of these products is that they have their own wireless system (not Z-Wave or Zigbee). This is also an advantage as they work with or without a working home automation system (or after you've sold and taken away your home automation center). However, if you are using this with Wink, you are connecting the Pico remote through Wink without following the instructions provided by Lutron. used to live (or even where there was a 3 or 4 position switch). They sell a separate piece of plastic for assembly in a box that really should come with the remote control. If you're installing it in a box, working with existing wiring is pretty easy - you just connect all the wires to a big nut (except for a common wire (unlikely) or ground). I would suggest taking a photo of the existing switch wiring and labeling the wires if needed so you can easily reverse the process if you remove the Lutron switch. As for the remote, it's actually a bit better than the Wireless Switch I paired with it, as the center button can be set to turn on at a saved brightness level, while the power button remains fully bright. That being said, this product works just as well as any wired sub switch - as long as the distance isn't too far. In terms of distance, for use with the Wink system, this would be the distance to the Wink hub. When used without a hub, this is the distance to the wired switch. I didn't check the distance, but I had no problem with them being on a different floor than my hub, but they're practically right under the hub, so the distance isn't great. Anyway, I don't like proprietary systems at all. , but here it offers a certain advantage.
