Love them on lighting and ceiling fans

More than half my house has wireless (wired) transmitter switches and I have these picos installed for all the other switches. My kitchen island has a three-back pedestal and Alexa with voice control. couldn't be happier. used them for many years. there were no problems with the battery or anything. Excellent product and renowned leader in the industry. **Opening, these are remotes ONLY so you must still have Lutron compatible devices for them to "control". (Ex: wired Maestro wireless wallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Dumpy

This device controls one or more Lutron Caseta Switches. In the image above, the first three switches, starting from the left, are various forms of Luton switches. The item on the right is one of these remote controls. It is used to provide a third point of light control in the living room without additional wiring. I installed another block in the hallway. If I walk into my bedroom and notice that the lights in the courtyard are still on, I can push a button and all six lights in the courtyard

Great item for accessories

This remote has improved the lighting in our home. Our dining room has two entrances, the main entrance to the rest of the house and one to the kitchen on the opposite side of the room. The light switch was at the main entrance, a standard two-pole dimmer, so it couldn't be switched on from the kitchen. I replaced the original dimmer with a Lutron Caseta Wireless (Pro model, PD-10NXD) dimmer and then connected it to the Pico remote. Very easy to install and pairing only took a few seconds. Nowโ€ฆ

Lutron Pico Remote (in Black!)

I've tried many 'smart' home automation products and to be honest the Lutron Caseta lighting controls are probably the only ones I really like and to install. It *just works*, everything is high quality, the controllers can be wall mounted or on nice stands, the dimming is smooth, it all just looks like luxury and not some clumsy broken techno gadget. It's instant and the range is impressive (they SAY 30 feet, but for me it works fine at hundreds of feet). This is their Pico remote and requires

Fast, mountable and tactile remote control

The Pico remote control has good button travel so you can feel when the button is pressed. Yes, the Pico doesn't have that "click" like a shift paddle, but it's definitely what I would call tactile. You know you clicked on it. The response time on the Pico is much faster. I noticed that the Pico remotes have two different drivers to choose from in Hubitat: Lutron Fast Pico or Lutron Pico. The latter gives you all 10 button presses (the usual 5 and then another 5, each in a hold state). However,

Flexibility: Allows use with or without a home automation hub

I use this in conjunction with a Lutron Caseta wall dimmer switch and a Wink hub. The disadvantage of these products is that they have their own wireless system (not Z-Wave or Zigbee). This is also an advantage as they work with or without a working home automation system (or after you've sold and taken away your home automation center). However, if you are using this with Wink, you are connecting the Pico remote through Wink without following the instructions provided by Lutron. used to liveโ€ฆ
