Review on Gray Manfrotto L Bracket Q2, Model MS050M4-Q2 by Timothy Weems

Very good product but not perfect

For some time I have wanted a product that allows me to quickly switch between landscape and portrait mode when my camera is mounted on a tripod. I've seen some great products, but all of these options cost over $300 and that was money I didn't have to spend. After deciding on a Manfrotto tripod/monopod/ball head, I decided to stick with Manfrotto and bought an L. bracket. Generally this helps, but it's not as quick to switch from one position to another as the alternative (but also more expensive - if you look at your custom brackets) options. I also confess to this vague feeling that it doesn't hold my camera as securely as I think a product like this should. However, this feeling may be due to my concern that I'm not following the directions exactly (see below). Dollar for dollar, I feel like I made the right decision, but would like to afford to spend more than double. and get what I think is an excellent solution. And I can't leave a review without mentioning the terrible instructions that come with the product. I understand that they are trying to cover as many different languages as possible at the same time, but I really lack guidance. This isn't cheap gear, and what sticks with it is way more expensive! I'd really like to feel comfortable installing/attaching this L-Bracket properly, but the instructions make me question my technical ability every time I use it. So far so good, but the feeling is not comfortable.
